Former Liverpool and England player Jamie Carragher offered advice to Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah amid his difficult relationship at the club.
“What we saw against Brighton was better than what we saw at Elland Road. But is that all Mohamed Salah deserves? He deserves a corridor of honor. He deserves a mosaic on the Kop. He deserves the opportunity to bring his family—his wife and children—out onto the pitch for his final game and truly celebrate everything he’s achieved as a Liverpool player.
So put your differences with the manager aside and just think: three or four months at Liverpool. The worst thing that can happen is a big farewell party. The best thing is you’re walking out onto the pitch with your teammates in Budapest for the Champions League final. “If he were sitting in Saudi Arabia and watching Liverpool do this without him, I think he’d be very sorry,” Goal quotes Carragher as saying.
The game against Brighton was Salah’s first since returning to the Liverpool squad, after being dropped by manager Arne Sloot for criticizing his position in the team. The Egyptian received a standing ovation from the stadium.
